Grappling, Judo and Jiu Jitsu is hugely popular among people of all ages in Brasil and is a credible and attractive way of engaging the attention of young people, especially men of all ages, in providing a platform to share the Gospel. Reaching out to the people of the Amazon region through Grappling, Judo and Jiu Jitsu does nothing for lost souls if our efforts to connect are not accompanied with the preaching of the gospel, which is the clear gospel priority of Judô e Jiu Jitsu por Jesus.
Besides empowering young people with the Gospel of the risen Lord Jesus Christ, Judô e Jiu Jitsu por Jesus educates young people and adults on self-defense, the importance of nutrition, avoidance of drug abuse and crime, and the development of godly life skills.
One of our ministry challenges now is lack of funds for construction, kimonos (Gi) and NoGi rash guards and exercise and martial arts equipment. We have received previously used and new sports equipment from our friends in the United States and locally in Manaus, but we still need more. We appeal to churches and other sports ministries to donate to us used and new sports equipment and funds for coordination of this ministry.
